गौ माता को राष्ट्रमाता घोषित कराने हेतु प्रारम्भ गौमाता राष्ट्रमाता प्रतिष्ठा आंदोलन के अंतर्गत परमाराध्य परमधर्माधीश उत्तराम्नाय ज्योतिष्पीठाधीश्वर जगदगुरु शंकराचार्य स्वामिश्री: अविमुक्तेश्वरानंद: सररस्वती 1008 जी महाराज वृंदावन से दिल्ली तक कि पदयात्रा कर रहे हैं।शंकराचार्य जी महाराज के पदयात्रा के समर्थन में संपूर्ण राष्ट्र में सनातनधर्मी समर्थन पदयात्रा सहित विभिन्न कार्यक्रम आहूत कर रहे हैं।उसी क्रम में आज काशी में भी आध्यात्मिक उत्थान मंडल की मातृ शक्ति व जगदगुरुकुलम के वैदिक विद्यार्थियों ने परमपूज्या साध्वी पूर्णाम्बा दीदी जी के सान्निध्य में शंकराचार्य घाट से नमोघाट स्थित गोवर्धन मंदिर तक पदयात्रा निकाल कर सरकार से गौमाता को राष्ट्रमाता घोषित करने व गोकशी बंद कराने की एक स्वर से मांग की।
ज्ञातव्य है कि पूर्वघोषित कार्यक्रम के अनुसार पूज्यपाद शंकराचार्य जी महाराज वृंदावन गोवर्धन पर्वत जिसे भगवान कृष्ण ने गौवों के रक्षा हेतु अंगुली पर उठा लिया था उसके 21 किलोमीटर की परिधि की परिक्रमा कर अपने पन्द्रह दिनी दिल्ली तक की पदयात्रा का प्रारम्भ कर दिया है।शंकराचार्य जी महाराज की पदयात्रा वृंदावन गोवर्धन पर्वत से दिल्ली संसद भवन के उस स्थल पर पहुच कर समाप्त होगी जहां 1966 में धर्मसम्राट करपात्री जी महाराज के साथ लाखों गौभक्तों व संतों ने प्रदर्शन किया था।उस प्रदर्शन के दौरान चली गोली के कारण अनेकों सन्तों को अपना बलिदान देना पड़ा था।
शंकराचार्य जी महाराज के इसी पदयात्रा के समर्थन में आज काशी से मातृशक्तियों व वैदिक विद्यार्थियों द्वारा निकाली गई पदयात्रा शंकराचार्य घाट से शुरू होकर नमो घाट स्थित गोवर्धन मन्दिर तक गई।जहां सभी पदयात्रियों में गोवर्धन मंदिर में दर्शन पूजन कर गौमाता को राष्ट्रमाता घोषित होने व गोकशी बन्द होने की कामना की।
पदयात्रा कार्यक्रम में प्रमुख रूप से सर्वश्री:-साध्वी पूर्णाम्बा दीदी,साध्वी शारदाम्बा दीदी,ब्रम्ह्चारी परमात्मानंद,ओमप्रकाश पाण्डेय,रमेश पाण्डेय,आर्यन सुमन पाण्डेय,शिवाकांत मिश्रा,विजया तिवारी,चांदनी चौबे,ममता मिश्रा,प्रेमलता जी,इन्दिरावती,सुनीता जायसवाल,माला मिश्रा आदि लोग सम्मलित थे।
