ज्योतिष्पीठ शङ्कराचार्य ने पीएम को लिखा पत्र – जम्मू कश्मीर की नदियों के वैदिक नाम पुनर्स्थापित करने का दिया सुझाव

ज्योतिष्पीठ के परमाराध्य जगद्गुरु शङ्कराचार्य स्वामिश्रीः अविमुक्तेश्वरानन्दः सरस्वती ‘१००८’ ने आज भारत के माननीय प्रधानमन्त्री श्री नरेन्द्र दामोदरदास मोदी को एक पत्र लिखकर देश की नदियों के लिए वैदिक नामों को पुनर्स्थापित करने की बात कही है। उन्होंने जम्मू-कश्मीर की नदियों के प्राचीन नामकरण पर विशेष बल दिया है।
ज्योतिष्पीठ आदि शङ्कराचार्य द्वारा स्थापित चार आम्नाय पीठों में से एक है। शङ्कराचार्य ने पवित्र नदियों के सर्वोपरि ऐतिहासिक और सांस्कृतिक महत्व को रेखांकित किया है। श्रीमद्भागवत महापुराण और ऋग्वेद जैसे पवित्र हिन्दू धर्मग्रन्थों के उद्धरणों का हवाला देते हुए देशवासियों, प्रकृति और विरासत के लिए नदियों के शाश्वत महत्व के साथ-साथ उनके वैदिक नामों पर भी प्रकाश डाला है।
इन पवित्र नदियों के नामों में निकट समय के बदलावों या विकृतियों पर चिन्ता व्यक्त करते हुए स्वामिश्रीः अविमुक्तेश्वरानन्दः सरस्वती महाराज ने श्री नरेन्द्र दामोदरदास मोदी से उनकी वैदिक उपाधियों को बहाल करने की दिशा में एक ऐतिहासिक निर्णय लेने के लिए आग्रह किया है।
शङ्कराचार्य वर्तमान में जम्मू और कश्मीर से बहने वाली नदियों के लिए वैदिक नामों की बहाली पर विशेष जोर देते हुए लिखते हैं – चिनाब के लिए ‘असिक्नी’, झेलम के लिए ‘वितस्ता’, रावी के लिए ‘परुष्णी’ और सिंधु के लिए ‘सिन्धु।
यहां यह उल्लेख करना उचित होगा कि वैदिक नदियाँ हमारे देशवासियोः के मन-मस्तिष्क में एक पवित्र स्थान रखती हैं, जो जीवन, संस्कृतियों और सभ्यताओं को बनाए रखने वाली जीवन रेखा के रूप में कार्य करती हैं। उनके वैदिक नाम साँस्कृतिक पहचान और प्रकृति के साथ आध्यात्मिक सम्बन्ध का सार दर्शाते हैं। वैदिक नामों के उच्चारण मात्र से व्यक्ति और समाज में पवित्रता, गौरव और सम्मान की भावना जागृत होती है।
माननीय प्रधान मन्त्री को शङ्कराचार्य जी का पत्र जहाँ यह वैदिक सनातन धर्म को फिर से स्थापित करने वाले महान् दार्शनिक आदि शङ्कराचार्य की परम्पराओं और विरासत को ध्यान में रखता है, वहीं यह इसकी पवित्रता को संरक्षित करने और सम्मान देने की सामूहिक आकांक्षा को भी दर्शाता है। वैदिक नदियाँ, साथ ही भारत की प्राचीन ज्ञान और साँस्कृतिक विरासत हैं।
