Ugly truth and let there be a light for Aging People

These old age people share their experienced on an open stage with thousands of people. Moderator Mohammed Liakat Hossain brings them in their golden year. However, they told us that at present none can show interest to listen to anything and live with miserable conditions. When they were active, the relatives and others people regularly visited them now they feel alone because everyone avoid. They forced to live with humiliation, abuses, and isolation at present. One is compelled to think about the living conditions of the aged from the economically weaker sections in every society especially in Bangladesh.

Mr. Sajib Khan Pasha, Vice Chairman, and Mohammed Munsir Ali, general secretary of the foundation announced their report regards on old age abuse and inhuman life that almost 95 percent the old age people at Manikgonj are poor with no source of income. The irrespective of their status, most old age people face abuse in one form or the others due to the lack of awareness about the rights of old age. With significant increase in the elderly population, it has been noticed that elder abuse has become rampant and majority of older people have resigned to their circumstances for sake of well- being of their loved ones and their own peace of mind said Chandan Sarkar,Ph.D. fellow, chairman of Dinesh Chandra Sarkar Sir Foundation.
