*पूरा जोशीमठ ज्योतिर्मठ है और वहाॅ का हर निवासी मठ का सदस्य*
जोशीमठ शब्द ज्योतिर्मठ का ही अपभ्रंश है। इसलिए जोशीमठ कहें चाहे ज्योतिर्मठ दोनों का तात्पर्य एक ही है। इस दृष्टि से देखें तो आदि शंकराचार्य भगवत्पाद प्रतिष्ठापित ज्योतिर्मठ का परिसर पूरा जोशीमठ ही है और यहाँ का हर निवासी ज्योतिर्मठ का सम्मानित सदस्य। इसलिए जोशीमठ के हर एक निवासी के लिए हमारे मन में अपनत्व की भावना है और इसीलिए उनके हर सुख और दुःख में परिवारजन की ही तरह हम उनके साथ खड़े हैं।

*हर विपत्ति समय पर टल जाती है अतः धैर्य धारण करें*
कितनी ही बड़ी विपत्ति क्यों न हो समय अनुसार उसे टलना ही पड़ता है। अतः विपत्ति के समय धैर्य धारण करने का उपदेश हमारे पूर्वजों ने हमें प्रदान किया है। *विपदि धैर्यम्* विपत्ति के समय धैर्य धारण करते हुए उसके निवारण का प्रयत्न करना चाहिए। घबड़ाने से तो विपत्ति और अधिक प्रभावी हो जाती है। इसलिए समस्त जोशीमठवासी भाई-बहनों से हमारी अपील है कि वे धैर्यपूर्वक बिना किसी का घबड़ाहट के इस आसन्न विपत्ति का सामना करें। इसके लिए हम हर वह उपाय अपनाएंगे जिससे विपत्ति कटती हो।

*नरसिंह पुराण पारायण और रूद्र-चण्डी महायज्ञ से हम करेंगे देवाराधन*
भगवान् शंकराचार्य जी ने कहा है कि आपदा-विपदा के समय उसके निवारण के लिए भौतिक उपायों के साथ-साथ देवाराधन करना श्रेयस्कर होता है। ज्योतिर्मठ के इतिहास में भी यह दर्ज है कि जब त्रिमुण्ड्या वीर ने जोशीमठ की जनता को सताया तब यहाँ के निवासियों ने देवी राजराजेश्वरी पराम्बा की उपासना की और उनकी कृपा से सबकी रक्षा हुई। भगवान् नरसिंह ने परम अत्याचारी, परम समर्थ हिरण्यकशिपु से बालक भक्त प्रह्लाद की रक्षा की। भगवत्कृपा से यहाँ के नृसिंह मन्दिर परिसर ज्योतिर्मठ मठांगण में दोनों विराजमान हैं। अतः हम मिलकर दोनों की आराधना करेंगे। भगवान् नरसिंह की प्रीति के लिए नरसिंह पुराण का पारायण और श्रीदेवी की प्रीति के लिए संपुटित सहस्त्र चण्डी महायज्ञ किया जाएगा। भगवान् श्रीरूद्र की प्रीति के लिए साथ ही साथ रूद्र महायज्ञ सम्पन्न होगा। हमें विश्वास है कि भगवत्कृपा से जोशीमठ की रक्षा होगी और ना तो जोशीमठ विस्थापित होगा और न ही विनष्ट।

*अब समय कि हम जोशीमठ और तथाकथित विकास में से एक को चुन लें*
जैसा कठिन समय हम सबके सामने आया है उसमें अब हमें यह निश्चय कर लेना होगा कि हम जोशीमठ को बनाए-बचाए रखना चाहते हैं या फिर उसकी कीमत पर टनल और बाईपास चाहते हैं। यह निर्णय इसलिए कर लेना होगा क्योंकि जो संकेत मिले हैं उससे यह तय हो गया है कि दोनों का सामञ्जस्य नहीं बन सकेगा।

*ब्रह्मलीन शंकराचार्य जी ने 12 वर्ष पूर्व ही चेताया था*
ब्रह्मलीन ज्योतिष्पीठाधीश्वर (एवं द्वारका शारदापीठाधीश्वर) जगद्गुरु शंकराचार्य स्वामी स्वरूपानन्द सरस्वती जी महाराज ने ईस्वी सन् 2008 में ही गंगा सेवा अभियानम् के माध्यम से अपनी राय देश के सामने रख दी थी जिसमें उन्होंने बड़ी विद्युत परियोजनाओं और हर उस बड़े प्रोजेक्ट को पहाड़ों के लिए विनाशक बताया था जो पहाड़ों को हिला रहे थे। उन्होंने 2010 ईस्वी में अपने एबीपी न्यूज़ के कार्यक्रम में एनटीपीसी के तपोवन विष्णुगाड प्रोजेक्ट के सन्दर्भ में स्पष्ट रूप से कहा था कि ऐसा न हो कि इस प्रोजेक्ट के प्रभाव से जोशीमठ सदा-सदा के लिए नष्ट हो जाए। आज उनकी आशंका शत-प्रतिशत सच साबित हो रही है। अतः हमें स्पष्टता के साथ जोशीमठ की रक्षा के लिए ऐसे प्रोजेक्ट को रोकना ही होगा।

*घबराएँ नहीं, सरकार समाज राजनैतिक लोग और ज्योतिर्मठ सब जोशीमठ के साथ*
हम इस अवसर पर जोशीमठ और उसके आस-पास के गांव में निवास करने वाले अपने प्रिय भाई-बहनों से अनुरोध/अपील करना चाहेंगे कि वे घबराए नहीं। सरकार, समाज के विशिष्ट जन, सभी राजनीतिक दलों के लोग और ज्योतिर्मठ सब आपके साथ हैं और आपके हित का चिन्तन और तदनुसार कार्य कर रहे हैं। आपदा के इस अवसर पर हम सबने अपने सभी मतभेदों को किनारे रखा हुआ है और मिलकर कार्य कर रहे हैं। उपर्युक्त सभी से निवेदन/अपील करते हैं कि इस समय सब एकजुट हों और जोशीमठ की रक्षा करें।
